Poderato is a website that gathers together, stores and distribute podcasts in a free way. Poderato brings to the user a new way for listen and be listened, through audio files

What is a Podcast?

According to Wikipedia, Podcasting is a way to distribute audio files through a document that lets susbcribe to them and download them; that way each user will be able to listen this file in the moment he wants, using a computer or a pocket player
A podcast can contain one or more episodes

4. How can i make a podcast?

  • Record the content
    Record your voice, music or whatever you want by using a program that can edit audio, podErato recommends: AudacityBecause it's free and easy to use. You must be sure that your audio file format is MP3.
    podErato recommends you the follow values for the bits transmission rate:
    If it's only voice: 48 or 56 kb/s (MONO)
    If it's voice and music: 64 kb/s (STEREO)
  • Edit the ID3 Tag
    This is an optional step and it will be useful for customize your audio file, you can do it with Audacity when you export the file as MP3, WinAmp, iTunes or almost every MP3 player.

5. How can i upload my audio file to podErato?

1. Register on podErato click here
2. Edit the title, image, description and category of your podcast
3. Edit the title, description of your episode and upload the file
4. Listen, recommend, and share your podcast.


6. Do i have to pay for using Poderato?

podErato gives you for free 1GB so you can upload your episodes

8. How can i subscribe to a podcast?


In order to subscribe, you must have installed some reader of RSS (programas que permite leer fuentes RSS)Poderato recommends iTunes
There are two ways to subscribe to a Podcast.

1. Subscribe through RSS
Once you installed the RSS reader, click the icon RSS that appears in the user page right side, and copy the address that appears in the browser bar and then put this address in the RSS reader subscription

2. Subscribe through iTunes.
In order you can use this tool, you'll have to downlaod and install iTunes
Once it is installed, click the icon iTunes That appears on the user page right side, and then the podcast will automatically subscribe and start to be downloaded



9. What is an episode?

A podcast can contain one or more episodes
An episode is the main part of a Podcast, in the episodes are contained the audio files that you add, and also the title and description for each them.



10. How many episodes can i have?

You can have 1, 5, 10, 15 episodes, as long as you have available space for continue uploading MP3
Remember that Poderato gives you for FREE 1GB



11. Can i change or erase the files of my episodes?

yes, you can erase or change the files of your episodes.
Notice: Remember that when you erase the file, the episode will be inactive, and in the user main page no episode information will be shown.

12. What is the Top Ten?

Is the list of the most voted episodes, according to the interest that the podcast has caused in the poderato community
Note: You can also subscribe to the Top 10 through iTunes Or through RSS.



13. When i vote, i vote for the podcast or the episode, and how many times can i vote?

You vote for the episodes, cause the episodes contain the audio file.
Each registeres user can only vote one time per episode


About the Tags


14. Whas is a tag?

Is a way to organize the espisodes
Sometimes the categories are not enough to clasify the episodes, so u can add a personal tag that describes the content of your podcast
The tags are also useful to find a podcast in more efficient way.



15. How can i add a tag for my episode?

Once you have created a podcast. In the menu, click My episodes
A list with your episodes will be shown, select the one you want to add a tag by clicking EDIT.
In the right side there will be a field where you'll can add a Tag.



16. What happens when i report an episode?

The report is evaluated by the management of Poderato.
If the episode violates some clause of the Terms and Conditions or the Privacy Policy will be inmediatly erased from podErato.

17. What can i do if i forgot my password?

In the main page of podErato you'll find a linkForgot your password?
Send us your email address (the one you used when you registered) and in a short time you'll receive an email with your new password



Can i change my account type (listener, podcaster, myband) ?

Only the Listener user can become into Podcaster and mantain his original account.
The Listener user must send a petition to podErato Management, through his profile by choosing the option 'Would you like to be a podcaster?' and wait till the management responds to the petition.



19. Can i delete my Poderato Account?

Poderato reserves the right to delete an account of any kind.
