Un experto habla de la biblia como obra literaria, política y mítica

Para muchos de nosotros el primer acercamiento a la Biblia llegó en el colegio, en las clases de religión, cuando nos enseñaron que se trataba de la palabra de Dios escrita por Dios. Con el tiempo, esa idea se matiza y aparece una verdad más compleja: la Biblia es un conjunto de textos escritos por seres humanos en distintas épocas, atravesados por contextos históricos y políticos muy concretos, especialmente los del pueblo de Israel, cuyas leyes, tradiciones y costumbres quedan plasmadas con fuerza en el Antiguo Testamento. Para creyentes y agnósticos por igual, la Biblia sigue siendo, hasta hoy, la narrativa más poderosa de la civilización occidental. Ese es el tema de este 25 de diciembre de 2025 en A Fondo: la Biblia como gran texto literario y como gran texto político, construido a partir de mitos, relatos y leyendas que han moldeado nuestra cultura. Este recorrido lo iniciamos de la mano de un profundo conocedor de la materia, escritor, periodista y doctor en sociología por la Universidad Cornell, con estudios en literatura latinoamericana, fundador de la Escuela de Cine y Televisión de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia y de la Maestría en Escrituras Creativas. Autor de libros como Sobre la faz del abismo, La historia de una cama, Del agua al desierto, Migas de pan y El rumor del astracán, su obra más reciente, La expectativa de lo imposible, reúne ensayos en los que reflexiona sobre la Biblia como el libro que ha fraguado la cultura de Occidente.
