En este episodio de “Cada día, una historia”, nos metemos en la historia de la colonización de Senegal por Francia y cómo esa relación marcó durante siglos la política, la economía y la identidad de África Occidental.
¿Cómo llegó Francia a convertir Senegal en una de sus colonias más importantes?¿Qué significó realmente la colonización para los senegaleses?¿Y cómo se construyó el camino hacia la independencia?
Desde la expansión del imperio colonial francés, la participación de miles de soldados senegaleses en las guerras mundiales y la independencia de 1960, hasta las complejas relaciones que ambos países mantienen en la actualidad… esta es una historia de poder, resistencia y transformación.
Y, curiosamente, esa historia también encontró un escenario inesperado: el fútbol.
En el Mundial de la FIFA 2002, Senegal sorprendió al mundo derrotando 1-0 a Francia en el partido inaugural, una victoria cargada de simbolismo para muchos aficionados. Décadas después, en el Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2026, Francia se impuso por 3-1 en un nuevo capítulo deportivo entre ambas selecciones.
Pero lo más interesante no es el marcador…es todo lo que había detrás de esos noventa minutos.
Porque en la historia…a veces… los ecos del pasado…también se escuchan en un estadio.
