En este episodio de “Cada día, una historia”, viajamos desde las costas del Mediterráneo hasta la Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2026 para descubrir la sorprendente relación entre Países Bajos y Túnez.
¿Qué papel desempeñaron los corsarios de Berbería en esta historia?¿Por qué barcos neerlandeses fueron atacados frente a las costas del norte de África?¿Y cómo terminó esa relación histórica trasladándose, siglos después, a un terreno de juego?
Desde la época de los corsarios de los Estados de Berbería, cuando miles de marineros europeos fueron capturados o tuvieron que pagar rescates para recuperar su libertad, hasta la intensa actividad comercial neerlandesa en el Mediterráneo y las negociaciones diplomáticas que siguieron… esta es una historia de piratas, comercio y geopolítica.
Y siglos después, el destino volvió a cruzar a ambos países cuando se enfrentaron en la Copa del Mundo de 2026, demostrando que el fútbol también puede convertirse en un inesperado punto de encuentro entre historias muy antiguas.
