Descripción del Episodio

Do we really need to turn every problem into a men-versus-women issue? In this Digital Social Hour debate, the conversation gets heated over gender, accountability, student loans, child support, and whether political and social issues are being framed differently depending on whether they affect men or women. The debate challenges the idea that every problem needs to be gendered. One side argues that certain issues affecting men deserve more attention, while the opposing side says many of those concerns have validity but ultimately affect both men and women and should be discussed without turning everything into a gender war. Student debt becomes one example of that disagreement. The conversation questions whether policies that appear to benefit women can create unintended consequences, while the opposing argument pushes for solutions based on the issue itself rather than the gender of the person affected. The Binge Crimes: What Happened to the Harrisons?

From the outside, 3635 Pitch Pine Crescent looked like the kind of home where nothing bad could happen, the gathering place for every birthday and holiday. Until one spring night when tragedy struck. In less than five years, three people would end up dead in the same house. Each time, the authorities found a way to explain it away. But the family who loved them knew something was wrong. Host Amy Dempsey Raven, an investigative reporter for the Toronto Star, spent more than a decade asking what really happened inside that house.
