Como sucede con la mayoría de los violadores, su conducta en el presidio fue ejemplar. A pesar de que los informes de los técnicos del centro penitenciario de El Dueso (Cantabria) rechazaban frontalmente cualquier beneficio en la condena por riesgo “medio-alto” de reincidencia, el juez le concedió el tercer grado en marzo de 2020.
Almeida se instaló en Lardero, a las afueras de Logroño, en una tranquila zona residencial, la urbanización Villa Patro. Y como cabía esperar, el 28 de octubre del mismo año, mientras sus vecinos celebraban Halloween, el monstruo apareció de nuevo.
