Forrest Heath llegó a Medellín hace ocho años sin hablar una palabra de español. Hoy, a sus 28, lidera Somos Internet: una empresa que nació cableando bares en la Comuna 13 y que ya tiene más de mil empleados retando a los gigantes de las telecomunicaciones en Colombia.
Forrest nació en Carolina del Norte. Su mamá cuidaba niños y su papá hacía mantenimiento para el municipio. A los once años hizo su primer Ironman. A los catorce dejó el colegio para montar una empresa de software. Y un día, casi por accidente, viajó a Medellín a visitar a un amigo. Tres días después, decidió quedarse.
Hablamos con él de aprender por fuera de la universidad, de su relación con la plata, del optimismo como una decisión, y de por qué cree que en Colombia el futuro todavía está en el futuro.
