La madrugada del 25 de agosto de 2023, la cantante María del Monte y su familia fueron víctimas de un violento asalto en su casa de Gines (Sevilla). Cinco encapuchados irrumpieron en la vivienda tras cortar el suministro eléctrico y aprovechar fallos en la seguridad. Ataron a Inmaculada Casal —pareja de la artista—, golpearon a su hija y se llevaron más de 150.000 euros en joyas, relojes y dinero en efectivo. Las víctimas, aterradas, identificaron el acento forzado de uno de los ladrones, que se hacía pasar por ruso. Pero lo más escalofriante del caso aún estaba por saberse.
A lo largo de una exhaustiva investigación, la Guardia Civil ató cabos y descubrió una pista inesperada: las llamadas y movimientos del sobrino de María del Monte, Antonio Tejado. Íntimamente vinculado al boxeador apodado “El Ruso”, uno de los presuntos cerebros del atraco, Tejado habría proporcionado información clave sobre la casa, los horarios de las víctimas y el contenido de la caja fuerte. Entre los indicios, una coartada insólita: el regalo de un cachorro a su tía, entregado el mismo día del robo, con la excusa de confirmar que ella estaba en casa.
La trama se complica con escuchas, triangulaciones de móviles, relaciones entre delincuentes reincidentes y un botín que fue presuntamente vendido por 48.000 euros. Entre los implicados, además del sobrino de la cantante, figuran un exconvicto conductor del robo, un boxeador profesional con antecedentes y un “conseguidor” sevillano con 30 detenciones a sus espaldas. El relato destapa una red de amistades peligrosas, traiciones familiares y adicciones encubiertas. Tejado, que había sido como un hijo para la artista, está ahora en prisión provisional, acusado de ser el autor intelectual del asalto.
El episodio culmina con una María del Monte golpeada pero firme. Aunque rota por dentro, se mantiene en pie ante el público, negándose a alimentar el morbo y mostrando plena confianza en la justicia.
