Según ha relatado, el principal problema durante casi dos décadas ha sido que el edificio estaba "lleno de okupas".
El origen del conflicto se remonta a la construcción del inmueble en 2006. De las 14 viviendas que componen el edificio, solo dos fueron vendidas: la de José Antonio y la de su vecino, el vicepresidente. Esta situación provocó que la presidencia recayera sistemáticamente en José Antonio, al ser uno de los únicos propietarios.
La consecuencia directa de esta ocupación masiva fue la imposibilidad de gestionar los servicios más básicos.
