Homenaje a Eduardo Galeano

Esta edición de Historias de nuestra historia está dedicada a recordar el libro “Las venas abiertas de América Latina” del escritor, cuentista, poeta y novelista uruguayo Eduardo Galeano, con motivo de la reedición homenaje publicada recientemente como así también por haberse cumplido un nuevo aniversario de su fallecimiento.
Este libro, publicado en 1971, significa un cambio en la mirada sobre la historia Latinoamericana, hablando de aspectos que siguen siendo actuales y repasa la historia de la explotación sufrida en la región desde la conquista por parte de España y continuada por países como Inglaterra, Portugal, Francia, Holanda y los Estados Unidos.
Felipe Pigna repasa fragmentos de una entrevista realizada a Galeano en el año 2008, a través de la cual se cuenta la génesis de esta obra y los primeros pasos en la publicación del libro, desde su escaso éxito inicial hasta cobrar la notoriedad y vigencia que aun hoy mantiene.
