Una vida dedicada a la edición de libros vinculados al pensamiento, sobre todo al pensamiento nacional, es la que llevó adelante Arturo Peña Lillo, uno de los mayores difusores del ideario nacional que se nutrió en gran medida de la militancia de los años 60 y 70.
Es en ese sentido que Felipe Pigna recordó la vida y obra del editor chileno en una entrevista a él en la que habla de su pasión por los libros, iniciado desde muy chico luego de descubrir uno que se había comprado su padre, de su perseverancia por el trabajo y de los lujos que sintió al haber editado a los grandes pensadores del siglo XX.
Peña Lillo, quien falleció el 21 de marzo del 2009 a sus 91 años, es considerado como mentor del campo intelectual desde la década del 50’, habiendo trabajado con obras de autores como Arturo Jauretche, Raúl Scalabrini Ortiz, Rodolfo Puiggrós, José María Rosa, Ernesto Palacio, Fermín Chávez y Jorge Abelardo Ramos.
