Desde la Real Sociedad Económica Matritense de Amigos del País, una institución creada por Carlos III en 1775 y ubicada en la Torre de los Lujanes de Madrid, grabamos este programa tan especial para conmemorar un hito cronológico de Escobulandia: ¡600 programas!
Empezaremos entrevistado al presidente de la misma, Manuel Rodríguez Alcayna, para que nos hable de este precioso edificio, de su historia, de la puerta de madera más antigua de Madrid que se ha datado en el año 1415 y sobre el enigma de si el rey Francisco I de Francia estuvo prisionero en la Torre.
Jesús Callejo despejará dos incógnitas ¿sabían que en el siglo XIV tuvo Madrid un rey armenio llamado León V que gobernó estas tierras durante siete años? ¿y sabían que el puente de hierro más antiguo de España, antes que el de Triana de Sevilla, se encuentra en el parque de El Capricho?
Marcos Carrasco se adentrará en el origen mitológico y festivo de “La Tarasca”, un dragón francés que salía en procesión del Corpus Christi en Madrid y otras ciudades en el siglo XVII. Además, hará una semblanza de la gran escritora María Teresa León, perteneciente a la generación del 27 y exiliada en Argentina.
Carlos Canales nos hablará de profundas historias del Madrid más subterráneo, como la cámara acorazada del Banco de España que se encuentra a unas siete plantas por debajo del edificio o los refugios que usó el mítico bandolero Luis Candelas. Ah, y también hará una muy breve historia de la cerveza en Madrid.
Juan Ignacio Cuesta, autor de un libro sobre este tema, hablará sobre los orígenes del 2 de mayo de 1808 que supuso el inicio de la Guerra de Independencia y la primera derrota del todopoderoso ejército de Napoleón, amenizado todo ello con unas coplas castizas que nos cantará sin guitarra.
David Sentinella se centrará en el origen y peripecias de la construcción de la Gran Vía en 1924, al igual que el carisma que tuvo el compositor Federico Chueca, autor de las zarzuelas “La Gran Vía” y “El Bateo” (1901) y una de sus piezas musicales (Tango de Wamba) será cantada por David, acompañado al piano por Juan Carlos Martínez.
Y todo este batiburrillo presentado por el gran Fran Izuzquiza con la técnica y el sonido del maestro Alberto Espinosa. ¡Pasen, vean y escuchen! Y si puede ser por la calle Abada, mucho mejor. Ya sabrán por qué.
