En este segundo episodio de Granada 1492: el fin de ocho siglos, nos adentramos en la historia del último sultán nazarí: Abu Abdallah Muhammad XII, conocido por la posteridad como Boabdil.Durante siglos, la leyenda lo ha reducido a una imagen cruel: el rey derrotado que lloró al perder Granada.
Pero su historia es mucho más compleja. Boabdil creció en la Alhambra, entre el esplendor de los palacios nazaríes y las intrigas de una corte que se descomponía desde dentro.
Su padre, Muley Hacén, desafió a Castilla y rompió el frágil equilibrio del reino. Su madre, Aixa, movió los hilos para defender los derechos de su hijo. La aparición de Zoraya, los intereses de los Abencerrajes, la guerra civil nazarí y la rivalidad con El Zagal convirtieron Granada en un reino dividido justo cuando los Reyes Católicos preparaban el golpe definitivo.
El punto de inflexión llegó en Lucena, donde Boabdil salió en busca de una victoria que legitimara su corona y terminó prisionero de sus enemigos. Desde ese momento, Fernando el Católico comprendió que aquel joven sultán podía ser más útil vivo que muerto.Este episodio no cuenta solo la historia del hombre que perdió Granada.
Cuenta cómo un rey quedó atrapado entre su sangre, su pueblo, sus enemigos y una corona que cada día le pertenecía un poco menos.
