Se desgrana su accidentada infancia: concebido por un engaño nocturno a su padre Pedro II, huérfano a los 5 años, educado por los templarios en el castillo de Monzón. Tras fracasar en Peñíscola a los 19, conquistó Mallorca y creó el Reino de Valencia con fueros propios, culminando con la entrada triunfal el 9 de octubre de 1238.
El episodio desmitifica leyendas como el Rat Penat del escudo de Valencia (adición posterior) y narra la supervivencia del rey a un flechazo en la cabeza y las apariciones de San Jorge en la Batalla del Puig.
