En este episodio de Sofá, Manta y Crimen repasamos dos casos reales en los que el poder, el dinero y la impunidad intentaron salirse con la suya… pero no siempre les salió bien.
Primero hablamos del caso de María Soledad Morales, una joven de 17 años asesinada en Catamarca, Argentina, en un crimen que provocó un escándalo nacional. La investigación estuvo marcada por intentos de encubrimiento y por la implicación de los llamados “hijos del poder”, familiares de figuras influyentes de la provincia. Pero la presión popular, las históricas Marchas del Silencio y la indignación social acabaron removiendo los cimientos políticos del país.
Después nos vamos a Estados Unidos para hablar de la familia Carman y del inquietante caso de Nathan Carman. En 2016 salió a pescar con su madre en un barco que terminó hundiéndose en circunstancias muy extrañas. Él apareció días después en una balsa salvavidas, pero ella nunca regresó. La justicia sospechó que Nathan había saboteado la embarcación para quedarse con una herencia millonaria, mientras también lo relacionaban con la muerte de su abuelo años antes.
Dos historias de true crime muy distintas, pero unidas por una idea bastante clara: hay gente que confunde privilegio con inmunidad.
