While we all know humans are social creatures, we have actually become much less social than in previous generations. People have fewer friends, more people than ever do not have a best friend, many of us claim to feel lonely and don’t know our neighbors. And certainly politics has created a lot of division and isolation. We are simply less connected. This is a real problem according to Geoffrey Cohen, professor of psychology and organizational studies at Stanford University and author of the book, Belonging: The Science of Creating Connection and Bridging Divides (https://amzn.to/3r82Nhi).
