En España la mili, el servicio militar obligatorio para los hombres jóvenes, se acabó hace más de 20 años. En un país donde lo nacional, lo católico y lo militar se habían mezclado durante décadas, fue un gobierno de derechas, el de Aznar, el que libró a los españoles de la mili e inauguró la era del Ejército profesional. Han pasado casi 25 años y el mundo es diferente. Se habla de rearme, se habla de tener un ejército europeo… Está volviendo la idea de una formación militar obligatoria. Aunque no parece que en España esté cerca.
Con el jefe de la información internacional en elDiario.es Javier Biosca repasamos qué países de nuestro entorno conservan o han recuperado un servicio militar obligatorio y con Jesús Núñez, el codirector del Instituto de Estudios sobre Conflictos y Acción Humanitaria, analizamos por qué esta idea no garantiza una mayor defensa de los intereses militares y de seguridad de cada país y de Europa en general.
