Hoy cerramos nuestro gran viaje de 2026 por Grecia y terminamos en donde empezó esta travesía: en Atenas, con los dioses que fuimos coleccionando a lo largo del camino. En esta última conferencia recorremos tres hilos de relato —la historia terrenal de la Grecia moderna, el trayecto de las mujeres en la mitología y la huella griega en el mundo de hoy— para entender cómo un país nacido de la revolución de 1821, golpeado por guerras, una dictadura y una bancarrota, sigue siendo un territorio de resiliencia asombrosa y capaz de levantarse una y otra vez. A través de las páginas de su historia pasamos de la "Megali idea" y el Tratado de Lausana a la guerra civil, los coroneles y la crisis del euro, de las diosas primigenias de Creta y sus serpientes sagradas al complejo de Edipo, y descubrimos que los dioses nunca se fueron: siguen vivos en el inconsciente, en las nueve musas y hasta en las misiones espaciales que nos llevan a mirar de nuevo las estrellas.

  • La Megali idea y 1821: Surgida en paralelo a las revoluciones americanas, la nación griega buscó consolidarse históricamente, pero su proyecto pronto chocó con la Turquía de Atatürk, disolviendo así el anhelo de recuperar la totalidad de la antigua Hélade.
  • El Tratado de Lausana de 1923: El acuerdo que "diseccionó" el Antiguo Imperio turco-otomano y delimitó fronteras entre las actuales Grecia y Turquía.
  • Guerra mundial y guerra civil: Grecia a mediados del siglo XX se vio inmersa en conflictos propios y ajenos. Las consecuencias de estas guerras marcan todavía la identidad y la realidad histórica de la moderna nación griega.
  • La dictadura griega y la resistencia desde la cultura: La dictadura de los coroneles (1967-1974) fue un régimen militar surgido de un golpe que suspendió las libertades y censuró la vida cultural. Frente a él, Mikis Theodorakis, Yannis Ritsos y Melina Mercouri hicieron de la música, la poesía y el exilio formas de resistencia.
  • La crisis de la deuda: Las cifras maquilladas con ayuda de Goldman Sachs, las tres refinanciaciones de la Troika y un rescate que salvó a la banca pero hundió a la sociedad griega en la depresión, mientras miles de jóvenes emigraban.
  • El legado griego en el mundo contemporáneo: De la filosofía, la democracia y el teatro a las ciencias, la arquitectura y las artes: cómo la huella del pensamiento heleno sigue viva y moldeando la cultura global de hoy.
