Luis tiene 13 años. Hace dos años, los médicos les dijeron a sus padres que Luis nunca iba a leer. Así que entenderán la emoción de su madre, Denisse.
Costó mucho que Luis tuviera un diagnóstico. Padece una enfermedad rara que le ha provocado daño y deformación cerebral justo en las zonas relacionadas con el aprendizaje, la lectura y la escritura. Y , además, es autista. Así que lo que han visto no es sólo un niño leyendo.
A veces, el diagnóstico no conlleva un pronóstico bueno. Pero, a veces también, la vida se encarga de sorprendernos. Cada paso que da uno de estos niños cuesta lo mismo que mover una montaña. Por eso que Luis lea, que esté empezando a leer, que todos esos críos que no iban a poder, pero pueden, es alcanzar un ocho mil.
