Podemos definir a la leyenda negra como una distorsión de los hechos históricos de un país, interpretados de forma negativa para perjudicar la imagen de ese país. En España ocurrió durante la época que se convirtió en imperio y, por tanto, en una de las mayores potencias mundiales. ¿El descubrimiento y conquista de América fue tan salvaje como han dicho? ¿Tanto daño hizo la Inquisición española? ¿Qué intereses creados existen para valorar más las sombras que las luces? ¿La leyenda negra nos la hemos creído? ¿Nos ha acomplejado? ¿Los nacionalismos actuales se aprovechan de ella?
Nuestros invitados, dos auténticos expertos en este asunto, como son Iván Vélez, autor de “Sobre la leyenda negra”, y Elvira Roca, autora de “Imperiofobia y la leyenda negra”, nos desgranaran algunas de esas respuestas, así como las causas del porqué de estas historias peyorativas y persistentes instigadas por holandeses, alemanes, franceses, ingleses y religiones como la luterana, sin olvidarnos de los enemigos internos que avivaron la discordia. También contaremos con la presencia de Guillermo Díaz y de Javier Santamarta que se unirán a la tertulia –a nuestro macrofilandón- para aportar sus valiosos comentarios y puntos de vista, junto con Carlos Canales, David Sentinella, Juan Ignacio Cuesta y Jesús Callejo.
