Las víctimas de las interceptaciones ilegales son la niñera y otra empleada de Laura Sarabia, jefa de gabinete del presidente, que ya habría presentado su carta de renuncia. A las dos mujeres las hicieron pasar como integrantes del Clan del Golfo para que pudieran ordenar su interceptación, que fue ordenada por la Dijin de la Policía.
El ministro de Defensa, Iván Velásquez, quien fue víctima de chuzadas en el gobierno Uribe, dio la instrucción de que se encuentre "quién dio la orden" de esas escuchas ilegales.
