Hoy hablamos de Weglot, una herramienta que nos permite traducir nuestra web para ofrecerla en varios idiomas, de forma automática, en unos pocos clics.

Ahora sí, hablemos de Weglot, una herramienta muy útil para traducir sitios web a diferentes idiomas. Y es que en los últimos tiempos, la necesidad de tener sitios web en varios idiomas se ha vuelto fundamental.
Es una herramienta muy sencilla de utilizar. Solo tienes que escanear tu sitio web y la herramienta detectará todo el texto, imágenes y descripciones SEO para traducirlo automáticamente. Además, cuenta con 30 integraciones para plataformas como WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, PrestaShop y Wix, entre otras.
Una de las ventajas de Weglot es que no necesitas saber programar, ya que es una herramienta muy simple de implementar. Además, el control que tienes sobre las traducciones te permite modificar lo que consideres necesario.
También te ofrece la opción de utilizar diferentes URLs por idioma, ya sea mediante subcarpetas o subdominios, y un selector de idiomas para que los usuarios puedan elegir la versión que deseen ver.
Otra funcionalidad interesante es la posibilidad de crear un glosario personalizado, donde puedes incluir marcas, nombres comerciales y demás términos que no deseas traducir. De esta manera, se asegura de que estos elementos se mantengan en su idioma original. Además, cuenta con una opción que te permite traducir solo las palabras que desees, evitando la traducción automática.
En cuanto al funcionamiento, simplemente debes instalarlo en tu CMS e ingresar tu clave de API. Luego, podrás elegir el idioma en el que deseas traducir la web, con una amplia variedad de opciones que incluyen más de 110 idiomas. Además, es compatible con varios plugins populares como Yoast, WooCommerce y plugins de formularios.
Weglot también ofrece la opción de excluir páginas o bloques específicos de la traducción, así como traducir los correos electrónicos enviados desde tu sitio web. Y si necesitas buscar alguna palabra o frase en tu sitio traducido, la herramienta cuenta con un buscador por idiomas y de correos enviados. Además, ofrece la opción de realizar redirecciones automáticas según la IP del visitante.
En cuanto al precio, ofrece varios planes que se adaptan a las necesidades de cada proyecto. Tiene un periodo de prueba de 10 días, donde puedes probar todas las funcionalidades de la herramienta de forma gratuita. Luego, tienes la opción de utilizar la versión gratuita, que te permite traducir hasta 2000 palabras en un solo idioma. Si necesitas más palabras y más idiomas, puedes optar por los planes Starter, Business, Pro, Advanced o Extended, que varían en el número de palabras y de idiomas permitidos, así como en el precio mensual. Así pues, es una herramienta muy útil para la traducción de sitios web a diferentes idiomas. Es fácil de utilizar, no requiere conocimientos de programación y ofrece opciones personalizables para adaptarse a las necesidades de cada proyecto, aunque su precio puede ser muy prohibitivo para muchos de nosotros. Yo por ejemplo, debería contratar la versión Extended de 600€/mes, una locura.
