3173. Cuatro plugins para ChatGPT y Codex

Hoy os presento cuatro plugins que utilizo a diario para conectar ChatGPT y Codex con TextExpander, WeTransfer, Cloudflare y Plaud.

Pero antes, recordemos que esta semana continúa el curso de marketing mix con IA. En la quinta clase diseñamos campañas de promoción coherentes y eficaces, y en la sexta investigamos el mercado para convertir información en decisiones. Así aplicamos la inteligencia artificial tanto a la comunicación como al análisis previo.

Ahora sí, vamos al lío con cuatro plugins que me solucionan la vida. Antes, al hablar de plugins, parecía evidente que me refería a WordPress. El mundo ha cambiado y ahora también utilizo plugins de ChatGPT y Codex para que el agente trabaje directamente con las aplicaciones donde guardo información o realizo una tarea.

El primero es TextExpander, una herramienta que convierte una abreviatura en un texto completo. Escribo una combinación corta y aparece un correo frecuente, una respuesta de soporte, una plantilla o incluso un fragmento de código. También admite variables para personalizar el contenido antes de insertarlo. Si queréis conocerla desde cero, tenéis el curso de TextExpander en Boluda.com.

Su plugin me permite gestionar los snippets mediante una conversación. Puedo pedirle al agente que cree uno con una abreviatura concreta, modifique un texto existente, elimine aquello que ya no utilizo o revise cuáles son los fragmentos más usados. También puedo encargarle que mejore el copy de toda la biblioteca sin abrir la aplicación para hacer cada cambio manualmente.

El segundo es WeTransfer. Es la solución habitual cuando unas fotografías, un vídeo o una carpeta pesan demasiado para enviarlos por correo. Con el plugin le indico a ChatGPT o Codex qué archivo quiero compartir y a quién debe llegar, y el agente se ocupa de preparar la transferencia.

También puedo pedir únicamente el enlace. Durante años subía el archivo, me enviaba la transferencia a mí mismo, copiaba la dirección recibida y redactaba un correo personal para el cliente. Ahora le encargo al agente que obtenga ese enlace y lo incluya en un mensaje más cercano, sin depender del correo automático de WeTransfer.

Esta integración también resulta útil para recuperar y volver a compartir archivos almacenados. La duración de esos archivos dependerá del plan contratado, pero el flujo es el mismo. Le pido el documento, obtengo el enlace o indico una o varias personas destinatarias y continúo trabajando sin saltar entre aplicaciones.

El tercero es Cloudflare, que utilizo cada vez más para registrar y administrar dominios. Su plugin es especialmente práctico cuando hay varios proyectos y ya no recuerdo dónde está registrado cada dominio, a qué servidor apunta o cuándo caduca.

Puedo consultar los dominios, revisar su estado y trabajar con los registros DNS desde el agente. Esto incluye cambios habituales al mover una web de hosting, apuntar un subdominio o configurar los registros MX del correo. En lugar de navegar por distintas pantallas, explico qué quiero conseguir y reviso la operación propuesta antes de aplicarla.

También puedo pedir una auditoría de la configuración y conocer cuánto gasto en dominios, cuáles no utilizo o qué servicio aloja cada proyecto. Para profundizar en DNS, caché, seguridad, túneles y automatizaciones, os recomiendo el curso de Cloudflare.

Y el cuarto y último plugin es Plaud, el que más valor me aporta de los cuatro. Llevo una de sus grabadoras encima, especialmente el NotePin, y la utilizo para reuniones, jornadas y conversaciones largas. Al detener la grabación, el audio se sube a la nube y queda transcrito y disponible en mi cuenta.

Gracias al plugin, esa información aparece directamente en ChatGPT o Codex. Puedo preguntar qué se decidió en una reunión, localizar una idea de una jornada o preparar un documento a partir de varias horas de audio sin descargar archivos ni copiar transcripciones. Os conté con más detalle cómo lo utilizo en el episodio dedicado a Plaud.

La compañía también ha presentado Plaud One, unos auriculares con funciones de grabación y agente de inteligencia artificial. Estuve tentado de entrar en la primera preventa, pero prefiero esperar a las reseñas y comprobar aspectos como la calidad de audio y la cancelación de ruido antes de sustituir mis AirPods.

Más allá de estas cuatro herramientas, lo importante es la estrategia que hay detrás. OpenAI está construyendo un ecosistema en el que cada servicio puede integrarse mediante un plugin y quedar accesible desde una conversación. Para el usuario común, buscar una herramienta, instalarla y autorizarla resulta mucho más sencillo que configurar una API o montar una conexión técnica.

Ese ecosistema puede convertirse en una ventaja competitiva enorme. Crear otro asistente de inteligencia artificial es difícil, pero todavía lo es más convencer a miles de empresas para que desarrollen sus integraciones. Es la misma fuerza que tienen las tiendas de aplicaciones en los sistemas móviles. El valor no reside únicamente en la plataforma, sino también en todo aquello que terceros han construido a su alrededor.

En definitiva, TextExpander me ayuda a mantener textos reutilizables, WeTransfer simplifica el envío de archivos, Cloudflare centraliza la gestión de dominios y Plaud convierte conversaciones grabadas en contexto consultable. Cuatro plugins pequeños que eliminan muchos pasos repetitivos y hacen que el agente sea realmente útil en el trabajo diario. :)
