El 80% del comercio mundial viaja por mar, y los barcos que lo hacen posible están a punto de transformarse radicalmente gracias a la inteligencia artificial, la automatización y los nuevos sistemas de propulsión.
La industria naval vive un momento bisagra: después de décadas de declive en Occidente, la construcción de buques ha vuelto a convertirse en una prioridad estratégica. China domina la producción mundial, pero Estados Unidos y Europa pugnan por recuperar terreno ante un contexto geopolítico cada vez más tenso. Mientras tanto, los astilleros del futuro ya integran robots industriales, gemelos digitales e impresión 3D, y los barcos que salen de ellos son capaces de navegar solos, optimizar rutas con IA y formar parte de redes de combate multidominio. Todo ello plantea retos enormes: desde la reconversión laboral en ciudades como Cádiz hasta los vacíos del derecho internacional marítimo que nadie sabe todavía cómo llenar.
