Descripción del Episodio

Kylie’s back for another episode of Not Gonna Lie brought to you by Olipop! She kicks off the show with a quarterly reminder: she can fight. Don’t think she didn’t see some of those comments on the latest Jason thirst trap (1:02)! Kylie also highlights a couple Real One Comments of the Week about how hard it was for her to not swear in our Disney special (3:06) and some fantastic FAFO fan art for our studio’s Japanese Maple this holiday season (4:20).

Then, in “Doomscroll of the Week,” Kylie reacts to a hilarious TikTok that demonstrates exactly what it means to be a “cool aunt” and weighs in on Uncle Trav’s “cool uncle” status (5:14). Kylie also talks about whether or not parents should regularly attend their kids’ sports practices (8:55) and then reacts to being featured in Las Culturistas’ “I Don’t Think So Honey” segment (11:35).

After that, in honor of her recent hosting of a panel for Malala’s book tour in Philly, Kylie brings back “Places Kylie Has No Business Being” (14:52). She raves about the experience backstage with Malala, as well as her ultimate goal of getting her to say “Go Birds!”

Kylie then welcomes one of the most accomplished NGL guests ever, the three-time champion, four-time MVP and the G.O.A.T. WNBA player: A’ja Wilson (21:25)! Kylie thanks A’ja for sending her some A’Ones and almost immediately goes into recruiting the greatest in the world to Philly’s WNBA team in 2030 (26:01).

Kylie also asks A’ja about being fresh off her third championship with the Las Vegas Aces, how rowdy the parade bus was and what hilarious sh*t was going on at her championship press conference with those goggles and the tambourine (28:57).

A’ja and Kylie then get into her signature shoes selling out in under five minutes and what it was like having Bam Adebayo be the first NBA player to wear them during a game (41:30). Kylie and A’ja then bond over the “safe space” that is being in a relationship with another athlete, as well as the everyday competitiveness that has forced them both to stop playing certain games with Jason and Bam, respectively (47:54).

Kylie then asks A’ja about the ongoing negotiations between the WNBA and the players and what ultimately they want to get accomplished (50:51). A’ja also reveals the biggest misconception she hears surrounding this “Pay Us What You Owe Us” conversation.

Make sure you tune into More Sh*t Monday on the Not Gonna Lie YouTube channel for even more exclusive clips from Kylie’s longer conversation with A’ja Wilson.

The Last 12 Weeks

The Last 12 Weeks

By shows

In 1992, David Wood was convicted of murdering young women and girls and burying them in the desert outside El Paso, earning him the nickname the Desert Killer. More than 30 years later, his lawyers have one last chance to argue his innocence and stop his execution. “The Last 12 Weeks” follows a team of capital defense lawyers as they try to save their client’s life. The series, produced by Serial Productions and The New York Times in collaboration with The Marshall Project, focuses on the high stakes and at times bizarre work involved in trying to halt an execution. With an extraordinary level of access to a capital case in its final stretch, the longtime death penalty reporter Maurice Chammah takes listeners into the room with the lawyers as the clock ticks down. Maurice and Alvin Melathe, a producer, follow members of the defense team as they look for alternate suspects, try to find new evidence to poke holes in the case, and track down hard-to-find witnesses. In the end, will the lawyers’ efforts be enough to persuade a deeply skeptical court system — and stop an execution three decades in the making? “The Last 12 Weeks.” A five-part series … on a deadline.
