Daniel tiene 20 años y Hoy cumple una sentencia de 50 años por secuestro exprés, pero su historia no empieza ahí.

 

Empieza a los tres años, cuando Daniel iba cada ocho días al Reclusorio Norte a visitar a su papá. No sabía que era la cárcel — le decían que estaba en un internado. Lo que sí veía era la extorsión, los golpes, los custodios robando a los propios internos. Lo veía todo.

 

A los 13, cuando Daniel compraba droga para consumo propio en un punto de la Ciudad de México, lo levantaron en una camioneta. Eran encapuchados. Lo torturaron en tambos de agua hasta que entendió que la única salida era trabajar para ellos. Lo llevaron a adiestramiento en un cerro de Hidalgo. Ahí, junto a más de 40 personas, aprendió a desarmar un arma, a sobrevivir en la sierra y a ver cómo cortaban a personas  sin parpadear.

Era el más joven de todos.

Desde entonces, Daniel trabajó como guardia de una mujer que dirigía un punto de narcomenudeo. Vivía con ella y sus hijos. Los consideraba su familia. Con el dinero que le pagaban le compraba cosas a su mamá, que sabía todo lo que hacía su hijo y que una vez le dijo: "Ya estás adentro. Ya no hay vuelta atrás. Si intentas salirte, te matan.

Durante años, Daniel mató personas por órdenes de sus patrones.

El día que lo detuvieron no iba a hacer nada extraordinario, robaron una camioneta de carga, amarraron al chofer porque el compañero de Daniel no quiso soltarlo y el GPS de la unidad robada delató su ruta.

Hoy, desde la cárcel, Daniel habla sobre el reclutamiento de menores en el crimen organizado, sobre qué le ofrece el narco a un niño de 13 años que no encuentra otra forma de pertenecer y sobre si la cárcel puede cambiar a alguien que aprendió a dejar de sentir.
