Vicente Molina, integrador social y divulgador en redes (Nuestro Hilo Rojo), es padre de dos hijos adoptados y también tiene una niña en acogida. Él lo tiene claro: una adopción no consiste en sustituir a la familia biológica, sino en ser un eslabón más en la cadena vital del niño.
En este episodio de Roca Project, Vicente comparte un testimonio honesto y profundamente humano sobre cómo es ser padre adoptivo. Poniendo el foco en los los menores, hablamos de cómo les afecta la adopción (las secuelas emocionales, el miedo al abandono, etc.) y de cómo criar a una niño o un niño adoptado. Vicente derriba los mitos de la crianza de menores adoptados como que el amor hacia ellos es un flechazo, que el pasado se borra, que basta con querer, y también nos cuenta cómo aprendieron a crear un vínculo sólido con un hijo adoptado sin por ello demonizar a sus padres biológicos.
Vicente también relata el estigma que aún hoy arrastran las familias que no encajan en el molde de una familia convencional y también muestra su posición ante temas como el filtrado de niños de las familias que quieren adoptar, el precio real de las adopciones o la gestación subrogada. Además, conversamos sobre los diferentes tipos de adopción y acogimiento familiar en España. Ponemos el foco en los más de 20.000 niños en centros de menores, la infancia tutelada que crece sin familia y los adolescentes que llegan a la mayoría de edad sin que nadie los haya adoptado.
Porque adoptar no es dar la vida, pero sí decidir dejarse la propia en que esos niños crezcan felices. Vicente defiende que no es que los adultos tengamos derecho a ser padres, es que son los niños quienes tienen derecho a tener una familia.
