Al comienzo de su carrera como profesor de Filosofía, Eduardo Infante descubrió que una de sus alumnas de Bachillerato no atendía la pizarra y miraba por la ventana. "¿Qué es eso tan interesante al otro lado de la ventana? Imagino que será más importante que el examen de la semana que viene", preguntó irónicamente. "La vida", respondió su alumna.
Dos palabras que derrumbaron su mundo. Se dio cuenta de que había convertido su aula en una "caverna", con los alumnos como prisioneros. Al día siguiente borró la pizarra y empezó a impartir sus clases en el parque y las calles, donde preguntaba a los estudiantes qué problemas existenciales tenían y qué respuestas querían encontrar en la Filosofía. Sobre la vida, la muerte, el amor o la libertad abrieron debates que siguen desarrollando a través de los #filoretos, que el profesor les lanza a través de las redes sociales.
Ese fue el germen del libro 'Filosofía en la calle', donde Eduardo Infante reúne las grandes preguntas universales que han inspirado a los pensadores de todos los tiempos y las acerca al día a día. "La filosofía no nació en un aula, sino en las calles de una ciudad por las que Sócrates deambulaba. Y Sócrates no era un profesor de Filosofía; era un trabajador de la construcción, un vecino normal y corriente, pero implicado profundamente con el proyecto democrático y con la libertad. A Sócrates le encantaba hacer filosofía en plena calle, en los mercados, con los vecinos… dialogando y debatiendo acerca de lo justo y lo injusto y del bien común. Creo que se trata de recuperar esa práctica de la filosofía", concluye el autor.
