El cine es sin duda alguna el séptimo arte. Nos permite viajar a mundos lejanos, dar un paseo por tiempos pasados y futuros, emocionarnos, reír, llorar, aterrarnos…
Y todo ello, al menos en apariencia, de manera controlada. Pero, ¿y si no siempre fuera así? ¿Y si en ocasiones hubiera intereses ocultos cuya intención es manipular al observador? ¿Hasta qué punto el cine ha influido en las creencias de nuestra sociedad?
De esto y de mucho más os vamos a hablar en esta nueva entrega de El Colegio Invisible:
El cine y la televisión han tenido una gran influencia en la modelación de creencias y percepciones de la sociedad, a veces de manera intencionada por parte de agencias gubernamentales o la industria.
Algunas películas y series han anticipado desarrollos tecnológicos y sociales que luego se han hecho realidad, como la publicidad personalizada, los coches autónomos o la idea de vivir en una realidad simulada.
Programas como Los Simpson se han convertido en una especie de "profetas" que parecen predecir eventos futuros, aunque en realidad se trata más de una cuestión de interpretación y conexión de patrones.
Y ciertos contenidos audiovisuales, como El Exorcista, han cambiado radicalmente la percepción social sobre objetos o fenómenos, como en este caso la ouija.
Además, agencias gubernamentales como la CIA han influido en la industria cinematográfica para promover determinadas ideas y narrativas durante la Guerra Fría.
Al fin, cine y televisión son medios poderosos que han moldeado significativamente las creencias y la forma de pensar de la sociedad.
