La actualidad se basa a veces en una declaración y una contradeclaración, pero ahora se está ante hechos concretos. Pedro Sánchez, por ejemplo, mostró este jueves su apoyo y empatía por Rodríguez Zapatero y su familia a los periodistas en Bruselas, algo que no quiso decir en el parlamento el miércoles pasado. Sánchez trató de defender la polémica de las joyas aludiendo a que la legislación ha cambiado desde 2007.
Sin embargo, el código de buen gobierno se aprobó en 2005 a instancias del propio gobierno de Rodríguez Zapatero, por lo que ya en 2007, cuando supuestamente recibió el tesoro del rey saudí, estaba en vigor. Con sus palabras, Sánchez avala esa coartada que el entorno del expresidente hace correr. El escándalo no es que se reciban regalos, que se dejan depositados en Moncloa, sino la gestión de los mismos.
