El escándalo por los fallos en las mamografías se ha convertido en la mayor crisis de Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla desde que llegó al poder en Andalucía, hace ya seis años. Miles de mujeres lo han vivido asustadas, muchas aún no saben si les afectó el error. Las asociaciones, que han denunciado ante la justicia a la Junta, hablan de que ha habido fallecimientos. En la calle, la presión ha forzado la dimisión de la consejera de Salud, Rocío Hernández. Y algunos radiólogos han contado a EL PAÍS que en la región hay un déficit de especialistas estructural.
Lo que está en juego va más allá de la política institucional. Afecta a la confianza ciudadana en una herramienta esencial de la sanidad pública de todo el país: los cribados por cáncer, un sistema que salva vidas todos los días y que desde que se implantó supuso un antes y un después en la lucha contra la enfermedad.
