
“Mi tio y su roomie” - El Guefe & ChefGus - La Cebolla

Hay lugares que parecen hechos para pasar el día entre amigos, y la Cascada de La Cebolla definitivamente es uno de ellos. Entre su increíble cascada, sus aguas turquesas, el ojo de agua que se encuentra en la parte alta y las enormes paredes que rodean la cascada, perfectas para escalar, explorar.
Esta vez nos acompañaron El Guefe y Chef Gus, dos personas con las que llevamos alrededor de ocho meses conviviendo, pero con quienes sentimos que hemos construido una amistad de muchos años. Aunque existe una pequeña diferencia de edad entre nosotros (aproximadamente 50 años(No es cierto)) desde que nos conocimos conectamos increíblemente bien. Compartimos las ganas de vivir nuevas experiencias, reírnos de absolutamente todo y, sobre todo, estar rodeados de personas apasionadas, consideradas y con un corazón enorme.
El Guefe se ha convertido en una especie de Robin Hood mexicano. En sus videos lo vemos regalando cosas, sorprendiendo personas y apoyando a su comunidad, pero hemos tenido la fortuna de descubrir que esa generosidad no aparece únicamente cuando se encienden las cámaras. Detrás del personaje existe alguien profundamente bondadoso, que disfruta compartir lo que tiene y ayudar a los demás sin esperar algo a cambio.
Por otro lado, Chef Gus es una de esas personas carismáticas que siempre están dispuestas a apoyar, acompañar y hacer que cualquier experiencia sea mejor. Además de ser un chef extraordinario, tiene un don con la comida que simplemente no se puede explicar a través de una pantalla: hay que probarlo para entenderlo. Sin embargo, por encima de todo lo que puede preparar en una cocina, nosotros nos quedamos con la calidad de amigo y de persona que ha demostrado ser.
Entre clavados, escalada, aguas turquesas y las tragedias inevitables de cualquier aventura de Ideas de Altura, platicamos sobre los exámenes para entrar a la universidad, los accidentes de los mexicanos en cuatrimotos, llegar a pesar 150 kilos a los 16 años, bajar alrededor de 70 kilos, romper récords de tacos en restaurantes, nuestra cuestionable cultura general sobre los planetas, la costumbre de los hombres de no revisarse cuando se enferman, los lujos y en qué cosas realmente vale la pena gastar.
Discutimos en qué cosas realmente vale la pena gastar, qué consideramos un lujo y por qué, al final, compartir experiencias con personas que queremos puede ser mucho más valioso que cualquier cosa material.
Pero entre todas las risas, los debates y las historias, terminamos hablando de algo que para nosotros tiene muchísimo valor: la amistad. Platicamos sobre los sacrificios que implica conservar una relación durante muchos años, las diferentes maneras en las que cada persona demuestra afecto y cómo muchas veces querer a alguien no se ve igual en todos.
Este episodio fue una oportunidad para salir a divertirnos con dos personas que estimamos muchísimo y agradecer por esas amistades inesperadas que, sin importar la edad o el tiempo que llevan en tu vida, se sienten auténticas desde el principio. Chef Gus y El Guefe son el ejemplo perfecto de que hay personas con las que simplemente combinas, y nosotros tuvimos la fortuna de encontrarlas.
Gracias a todos los que continúan acompañándonos en cada subida, cada viaje, cada tragedia y cada conversación. Esta comunidad nos ha permitido enseñarles lugares increíbles, vivir experiencias que jamás imaginamos y, sobre todo, compartirlas con personas extraordinarias. Esperamos que este episodio les recuerde el valor de cuidar a sus amigos, demostrarles afecto a su manera y seguir creando historias juntos.
