
1er Episodio en Asia – Mount Ijen, Indonesia 2x28

Por primera vez, Ideas de Altura salió del continente americano para grabar un episodio en Asia. Y para un momento tan especial necesitábamos un lugar que estuviera, literalmente, a la altura: el cráter del volcán Ijen, en Indonesia.
Mount Ijen es conocido por tener uno de los paisajes más impresionantes del país. Para llegar hasta el cráter hay que comenzar a subir en plena madrugada, atravesando la oscuridad y el intenso olor a azufre (está peor si te entra a los ojos y la garganta, justo como nos pasó), con el objetivo de presenciar su famoso fuego azul antes de que salga el sol.
Conforme comenzó a amanecer entendimos por qué tantas personas viajan hasta este rincón de Indonesia. Frente a nosotros apareció el enorme lago turquesa que ocupa el interior del cráter, rodeado de paredes volcánicas, columnas de humo y un paisaje que parecía de otro planeta. Sin duda, fue uno de los amaneceres más espectaculares que hemos presenciado durante este viaje y uno de los más bonitos que hemos visto en todo el año.
La cantidad de personas reunidas frente al cráter hizo imposible grabar el episodio durante el amanecer como lo habíamos imaginado. Sin embargo, no podíamos dejar de compartirles el lugar, así que dentro del episodio encontrarán imágenes del lago, videos del famoso fuego azul y una toma en 360 grados para que puedan experimentar un poco de lo que nosotros vivimos aquella mañana.
Para este primer episodio en Asia regresó alguien que ha formado parte de Ideas de Altura desde el principio: Marcelo Becerra, quien estuvo con nosotros en el primer episodio, el episodio piloto grabado en el Cerro de la Silla, donde no lo presentamos. Pasamos de aquella primera grabación en Monterrey a sentarnos juntos al otro lado del mundo, frente al cráter de un volcán en Indonesia. También les presentamos José Chapa, primo, tío, abuelo o algún parentesco todavía no identificado de Gael, quien continúa acostumbrándose poco a poco a la idea de aparecer frente a una cámara.
Después de tres semanas viajando y prácticamente un mes viviendo juntos, evidentemente ya teníamos demasiadas historias que contar y con el TDAH de nuestro querido Mael se nos pasó platicar la mitad. Sin embargo en este episodio platicamos sobre el choque cultural que hemos experimentado en Asia, los lugares increíbles que hemos conocido y todas las pequeñas tragedias que inevitablemente aparecen cuando un grupo de amigos pasa demasiado tiempo viajando junto.
Hablamos de las aerolíneas cobrándonos cada kilo extra de equipaje, de nuestros intentos por ahorrar dinero durante el viaje, de salir a festejar con Mau y después tener que levantarnos casi inmediatamente para ir a un tour, estilo de esas actividades familiares a las que te obligan a asistir aunque estés desvelado y cuestionando todas las decisiones que tomaste. También contamos cómo fue realmente subir Mount Ijen.
Este episodio representa mucho más que una grabación en otro país. Es la primera vez que llevamos Ideas de Altura hasta Asia, cumpliendo un sueño y viviendo mil experiencias diferentes haciéndolo.
Al final, de eso se ha tratado este viaje: conocer lugares que jamás imaginamos presenciar, acumular historias que probablemente contaremos durante muchos años y crear experiencias junto a las personas que queremos. Gracias por acompañarnos desde aquel primer episodio en el Cerro de la Silla hasta este amanecer en un volcán al otro lado del mundo. Esperamos que este sea solamente el primero de muchos episodios internacionales y que sigamos descubriendo juntos todos los lugares a los que puede llegar Ideas de Altura.
