¿Existieron artilugios, artefactos, autómatas o androides con movimiento propio en siglos pasados? ¿Ha llegado alguno hasta nosotros? Raúl Ferrero, autor de “Autómatas y cabezas parlantes”, nos hablará de los inventos que se atribuyen a Herón de Alejandría o al papa Silvestre II, y también del bafomet templario y de las cabezas parlantes en la Edad Media atribuidas a monjes como Roger Bacon o San Alberto Magno.
Ya en la Edad Moderna, en pleno Renacimiento, es imprescindible hacer referencia a genios como Leonardo da Vinci y su caballero mecánico, a John Dee y su escarabajo de Cambridge, a Arcimboldo y sus autómatas para la corte de Rodolfo II, a Juanelo Turriano y su hombre de palo.
Y si ya nos metemos en la Edad Contemporánea, como no mencionar el “pato excretor” de Vaucauson, o al “escritor” de Jaquet-Droz o el “turco” de Wolfgang von Kempelen. Y en España con dos genuinos referentes en estos temas como fueron Domingo Martínez de Presa (en el XVII) y Leonardo Torres Quevedo (en el XX). Carmen Fernández nos hablará del dios griego Hefesto, creador e inventor de diversos autómatas, entre ellos Talos, el gigante de bronce que defendía la isla de Creta.
En la Extróbula abordaremos el apasionante tema de los robots (palabra que se inventa en 1921) donde Carmen y Raúl nos dirán si la Inteligencia Artificial aportará ventajas o desventajas en su uso, con el objetivo de convertir al robot en una persona jurídica, con derechos y obligaciones.
