Es uno de los miedos más angustiosos y para abordarlo como se merece contamos con el periodista y cineasta José de Cora, autor de “Me han enterrado vivo, la historia de la catalepsia a través de 100 casos reales”, quien nos hablará de esa “muervida” (neologismo que creó Vicente Huidobro) que tiene que ver con personas que han sido enterradas antes de tiempo por padecer catalepsia. Nos dirá los métodos utilizados por los romanos para comprobar que una persona había fallecido y los modelos de “ataúdes de seguridad”, con campanas incluidas, por si alguien despertaba dentro de su tumba. También citará el “pudridero” de El Escorial o casos tan llamativos como el de Tomas de Kempis, Concha Rodríguez o la ECM del embajador Manuel García Miranda. David Sentinella, autor de “Más allá de la vida”, nos contará el caso de Pedro Arias Dávila (fundador de la ciudad de Panamá), del compositor Chopin o sobre algunos soldados de la Guerra de Vietnam (hasta un 4%) que fueron enterrados aun vivos. Marcos Carrasco incidirá sobre la capacidad que tienen algunos faquires o yoguis para enterrarse voluntariamente y prolongar su supervivencia utilizando métodos de evolución espiritual. Jesús Callejo nos recordará a ciertos faraones o emperadores chinos que, a su muerte, ordenaban enterrar vivos a sus súbditos y sirvientes o el pánico que tenía Andersen a ser enterrado vivo.
