La arqueología tradicional que consiste en excavar, documentar lo excavado e interpretarlo desde el punto de vista histórico, ha mejorado gracias a las nuevas tecnologías que están ayudando a optimizar el tiempo y evitar técnicas invasivas con el terreno. Nuestra invitada, Carmen Ruiz, licenciada en Comunicación Audiovisual por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, directora epigrafista del Proyecto Djehuty (la tumba del tesorero de la reina Hatshepsut, dirigido por José Manuel Galán, del CSIC), nos hablará de varias tecnologías que van desde la fotografía (con especial mención a Harry Burton, el fotógrafo de la tumba de Tutankamón), la fotogrametría, la fotografía espectral, los Rayos X, la fluorescencia de Rayos X, el láser escáner, los análisis digitales de imágenes con Dstretch o la teledetección por LIDAR.
Nuestra colaboradora, Carmen Fernández, se referirá a las numerosas aplicaciones de la Inteligencia Artificial, las cuales proporcionan escalas de color más precisas y mediciones más certeras, así como el hecho de poder descifrar pergaminos deteriorados.
En la Extróbula, Marcos Carrasco nos mostrará unas espectaculares reconstrucciones de personajes históricos, como la Dama de Elche y la Dama de Baza y también con la Sábana Santa, utilizando para ello la IA, con resultados más que sorprendentes.
