En cualquier momento en este verano, una persona puede sufrir un infarto, una parada cardíaca, un ahogamiento, un ictus o un atragantamiento. En esta situación de extremo peligro, sobrevivir solo depende de una cosa: que haya alguien cerca que sepa realizar primeros auxilios mientras llega la ambulancia. La pregunta es, ¿Tú serías esa persona capaz de salvar una vida?
En este episodio de Roca Project, Miguel Assal, técnico en emergencias sanitarias, agente del SAMU, instructor de primeros auxilios y divulgador viene a enseñarnos cómo salvar vidas. Hablamos de lo que Miguel llama "la ventana de la vida", esos cinco primeros minutos en los que la diferencia entre vivir y morir está en las manos de quien está cerca de la persona afectada. Aprenderemos qué hacer ante una parada cardíaca tanto en adultos como en bebés, cómo reconocer los síntomas de un ictus, actuar frente a un atragantamiento o cómo responder si alguien está sufriendo un infarto. Para ello Miguel hace uso del kit de primeros auxilios que ha traído al programa.
Miguel también aborda uno de los temas más frecuentes del verano: los ahogamientos de adultos y niños. En España mueren por este motivo más de 470 personas al año. Hablamos de cómo leer el mar antes de entrar, qué significa encontrarte en una corriente de arrastre y por qué nadar contra ella es el peor error que podemos cometer. En los más pequeños, Miguel explica por qué los manguitos y los flotadores no son seguros y por qué el teléfono móvil es, literalmente, uno de los principales causantes de estas muertes.
