Stop Your Brain from Stopping Your Success
Descripción del Episodio
Your brain may be protecting you from the very success you want.
What if hesitation isn’t a lack of ambition? What if overthinking, perfectionism, fear of visibility, and self-sabotage are old survival patterns running automatically? And what if changing the behavior isn’t enough because behavior is only the final step in the pattern?
Master Coach and “Millionaire Activator” Suzanne Longstreet says the subconscious mind is wired to keep us safe, not necessarily to help us grow. When an opportunity involving greater success, money, leadership, or visibility activates an old belief, the brain may interpret growth as a threat and trigger fear before we consciously understand what is happening.
Suzanne Longstreet is the creator of Quantum YOU Activation and the bestselling author of The Millionaire Brain and co-author of The Millionaire Codes. She helps high-achieving women identify and eliminate the subconscious resistance disrupting their decisions, execution, visibility, and income.
Suzanne explains the sequence: an external trigger activates an internal message, the message creates an emotional response, and the emotion drives behavior. To create lasting change, she says we must identify the trigger, uncover the hidden belief, and rewire the pattern beneath the reaction.
Suzanne traces one of her own limiting beliefs about money to age four or five. After proudly announcing that the 100 pennies in her hand made $100, her mother laughed and corrected her. Although her mother meant no harm, Suzanne internalized a very different message: I don’t understand money. That childhood moment quietly followed her into adulthood and business.
After years of struggling to build her coaching practice, Suzanne discovered neuro-linguistic programming, hypnosis, and advanced cognitive techniques. She says applying those tools helped her move from earning approximately $15,000 a year to $60,000 within six months.
In this thought-provoking episode, discover:
- Why the subconscious mind can treat success as a threat
- How hidden beliefs formed in childhood can influence adult decisions
- Why triggers—not behaviors—may be the real place to begin
- How repeated thoughts can reinforce fear and negative emotional patterns
- What an amygdala hijack looks like in professional and personal life
- How fight, flight, freeze, and fawn responses affect confidence
- Why Tall Poppy Syndrome keeps accomplished women from speaking up
- How imposter syndrome and fear of visibility can restrict income
- How self-awareness can help interrupt an automatic response
- Why the language you use about yourself matters to your subconscious mind
