Íñigo Pirfano: "La música es la gran herramienta contra la incomunicación"

Cuando era adolescente, Íñigo Pirfano decidió dejar de ver la televisión para tener más tiempo para leer y pensar por sí mismo. Después estudió Filosofía en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y Dirección de Orquesta en Austria y Alemania, carrera que le llevó al éxito en escenarios de todo el mundo. Dirigir una orquesta, según explica, no consiste solo en mover la batuta delante de los músicos, sino en convertir cada concierto en una experiencia única, como si cada día fuera la última vez. "La música es inútil, no sirve para nada. Por eso es imprescindible. Como el amor, como la ternura, como la poesía, como las cosas grandes de la vida", reflexiona. Compositor de la música del IV Centenario del Quijote, Pirfano es también fundador y director titular de la Orquesta Académica de Madrid, por lo que recibió el premio Liderazgo Joven 2011 de la Fundación Rafael del Pino. Como autor ha publicado los títulos 'Música para leer', 'Ebrietas' e 'Inteligencia musical'. El pensamiento crítico y solidario de Pirfano le llevó a desarrollar el proyecto 'A kiss for all the world', con el que ha acercado la Novena sinfonía de Beethoven a los lugares más recónditos del planeta, desde aldeas depauperadas a campos de refugiados, salas de quimioterapia o cárceles, donde la música se convierte en un catalizador de la esperanza. "Este proyecto nació con la idea de hacer realidad que la Novena sinfonía de Beethoven fuera verdaderamente patrimonio de la Humanidad, como declaró la UNESCO en el año 2003, no del 4% de la humanidad que alguna vez ha oído hablar de Beethoven. No se trata de acercarles la dignidad, sino de reconocer la dignidad que ya tienen", concluye.
