En este episodio conversamos con Kapo, artista colombiano que nos demuestra que no rendirse siempre es el camino hacia los sueños. Su historia es un testimonio de esfuerzo, amor por sus raíces y la convicción de que la pasión, tarde o temprano, encuentra su destino.
Kapo creció en El Cabullal, Colombia, un lugar que muchos podrían ver como vulnerable, pero que él describe con orgullo como una zona bonita, familiar y muy unida. Su madre, cocinera de toda la vida, le enseñó el valor de hacer las cosas con amor, no por retribución; a darle valor a lo que se hace, no por lo económico, sino por su esencia y su alma.
Desde niño fue creativo, sociable y soñador. Siempre tuvo claro que quería ser cantante, sin importar el escenario: una esquina, una fiesta o un gran concierto. Kapo, fue criado en una gasolinera, experiencia que recuerda con cariño porque le enseñó a apreciar la humanidad en los encuentros fugaces y a valorar las conexiones que deja cada etapa de la vida.
Kapo nos habla sobre la importancia de estar presentes, de disfrutar las etapas, las personas y los momentos, entendiendo que, aunque los caminos cambien, los lazos verdaderos permanecen para siempre. En su adolescencia comenzó a grabar música desde casa y a compartirla en su comunidad. Con sus amigos jugaban a ser “manager”, “asistente” o “productor”, proyectando profesionalismo y soñando en grande, incluso cuando todo era juego e ilusión.
Después de dos años en Corinto cantando en pequeños eventos, se mudó a Bogotá con el apoyo de su madre, decidido a seguir su sueño sin estudiar una carrera tradicional. Cantó en discotecas y hasta en el TransMilenio junto a un amigo que siempre creyó en él y lo ayudó a salir adelante. Más tarde, se trasladó a Panamá, donde vivió momentos duros: frustración, soledad y dificultades económicas. Aun así, esa etapa le enseñó el valor de estar consigo mismo y lo formó emocionalmente.
Al regresar a Bogotá, decidió establecer un plan real para alcanzar sus metas. Se mudó a Medellín, donde finalmente fue firmado por una disquera. Poco después, tras el fin de una relación importante, escribió “OHNANA”, sin buscar fama ni dinero, solo con la necesidad de expresar lo que sentía. Esa canción, nacida desde la honestidad, se convirtió en el éxito que cambió su vida y su carrera.
Hoy, Kapo vive de lo que ama: la música. Su historia nos enseña que el éxito no llega por suerte, sino por constancia, autenticidad y la fe de nunca rendirse, incluso cuando todo parece en contra.
