Antiguamente, tener una espada y un caballo era tener un tesoro. La espada daba prestigio y algunas eran “objetos de poder”. Hablaremos pues de su origen, de los materiales usados, del acero de Damasco y del simbolismo de la espada. Pero también de espadas históricas como las dos del Cid, la de Boabdil, la de Carlomagno (Joyosa), la de William Wallace (Claymore), etc. Y, por supuesto, de espadas mitológicas y fantásticas. No pueden faltar Excalibur del rey Arturo, ni Gram la espada de Sigfrido que aparece en las sagas nórdicas. Carlos Canales nos mostrará cómo se luchaba con espada y las diferentes clases que existen. Juan Ignacio Cuesta nos recomendará una obra clave de Mircea Eliade: “Herreros y alquimistas”. Israel Espino nos contará la leyenda de la espada de Mistilteinn elaborada con muérdago y que mató al dios Balder. David Sentinella resaltará la importancia de dar nombre a una espada y las peripecias de Durandarte. Jesús Callejo sacará filo a la espada de Atila y al cuchillo de Nerón o espada de San Pablo, esa que fue anhelada por Franco. Marcos Carrasco nos dará a conocer al más famoso herrero de todo Japón, Masamune Ozaki, fabricante de legendarias katanas. Y, atentos, porque tendremos una entrevista exclusiva con el enano herrero Walia que nos revelará algunos secretos en la fabricación de ciertas espadas mágicas y sagradas (bajo la genial interpretación de Rafa Casette). Por último, Pepa Llausas desvelará algunas anécdotas de la película “El último samurái” y terminaremos con el maravilloso “credo del samurái” en la voz de Julio López Fonseca.
