El planeta rojo siempre causa fascinación a nivel mitológico y científico. Y cada año sabemos algo más sobre él gracias a las diferentes misiones soviéticas y estadounidenses que han enviado sondas y naves espaciales desde 1960. , doctor en Ciencias Físicas, nos contará las singularidades de Marte y los últimos descubrimientos que se han ido produciendo: la existencia de un campo magnético, agua líquida o dos casquetes de hielo permanentes en sus polos. Hoy conocemos mejor su ligera atmósfera con mucho CO2, con algo de metano, así como las tormentas de polvo que en ocasiones envuelven todo el planeta. Nos dirá lo que se espera encontrar con el Rover Perseverance que aterrizó en Marte el 18 de febrero de 2021. nos hablará del proyecto del doctor Javier Medina en biología espacial sobre el crecimiento de las plantas para, en un futuro próximo, cultivar lechugas o patatas en ese planeta. recomendará la película “The Martians”. sobre la influencia que ha tenido la suite “Los planetas”, de Gustav Hols, en muchas películas, sobre todo los apocalípticos acordes de Marte. reflexiona sobre colonizarlo a través de sus cavidades de lava o con cúpulas geodésicas. nos dirá por qué a los marcianos se les representa casi siempre de color verde. analizará la pintura de Velázquez titulada “El dios Marte”, con una original entrevista al protagonista del cuadro. Y Jesús Callejo terminará este periplo marciano con un cuento de la tradición jasídica.
