Las artes mágicas hacen alusión a diversas prácticas y creencias en torno a la magia que pueden variar según el contexto religioso. A veces son invocaciones de poderes sobrenaturales que imitan milagros divinos. Y también estas artes han servido para realizar espectáculos de alta magia dentro del mundo del ilusionismo y el mentalismo. El mago Luis Boyano, licenciado en Psicología, Premio Nacional de Magia y autor del espectáculo “Sobrenatural”, nos hablará de la “cabina de los espíritus” y de los primeros que la pusieron de moda, que fueron los hermanos Davenport, basándose en la magia espectral. Nos dirá las herramientas del espiritismo que conectan directamente con las artes mágicas más lúdicas. Raquel Berenguer Córdoba, autora del libro “Historia de una histeria: cosas de brujas”, nos dará otro enfoque de la brujería al decirnos quiénes eran las auténticas mujeres acusadas de brujas y los supuestos poderes que ostentaban, el por qué se las persiguió, el por qué se demonizó a la mujer sabia a veces por detentar conocimientos botánicos. Y nos hablará de las ordalías, de las alewives o mujeres de la cerveza que llevaban un gorro de ala ancha y puntiagudo para ser identificadas y del curioso movimiento W.I.T.C.H. que surge en Nueva York en octubre de 1968.
