Hoy hablamos de MacGPT, una app que nos permite usar ChatGPT dentro de nuestro Mac, en cualquier aplicación, web, o en el propio sistema operativo.

Ahora sí, hablemos de MacGPT, una aplicación muy recomendable que nos permite tener ChatGPT dentro de nuestro Mac.
Para utilizarla, simplemente debemos descargarla e instalarla. A continuación podemos definir instrucciones personalizadas para el prompt, es decir, la pregunta o texto con el cual queremos interactuar con ChatGPT.
Luego, tenemos dos opciones para utilizar MacGPT: a través de ChatGPT en la web o mediante su API, para lo cual necesitaremos una API Key. La opción de utilizarlo a través de la web de ChatGPT no requiere tener la versión Plus. En cambio, la opción de API es más rápida y nos permite elegir el modelo a utilizar, además de indicar el gasto de tokens durante la interacción. Pero vamos, yo personalmente consumo entre 5 y 6 euros al mes con todo lo que hago, con lo que realmente es muy poco.
Es importante tener en cuenta que las conversaciones en la web de ChatGPT quedan en el histórico, mientras que las realizadas a través de la aplicación nativa no. En todo caso, tenemos cuatro formas en las que podemos interactuar con la aplicación:
La primera opción es la global, que te permite acceder a la aplicación estemos donde estemos dentro de tu Mac. Con una combinación de teclas, estilo spotlight, podemos escribirle o hablarle y obtener respuestas, incluso con voz.
La segunda opción es la inline, que podríamos describir como si TextExpander y ChatGPT tuvieran un hijo. Con esta opción, podemos escribir la abreviatura "/gpt" seguida de nuestro prompt y MacGPT escribirá la respuesta en el mismo lugar donde estemos trabajando, ya sea Gmail, una web, PowerPoint, o cualquier otra aplicación.
La tercera opción es la barra de menú, que aparece arriba a la derecha, en el menú de Apple. Al hacer clic en el icono, se abrirá una ventana en la cual podremos mantener una conversación, y copiar y pegar fácilmente las respuestas.
Por último, la cuarta opción es la barra lateral, pero esta solo está disponible en la versión web. Nos aparecerá una barra lateral donde podremos tener la conversación con la inteligencia artificial. Más limitada, y la que menos uso.
La app también tiene la opción de segundo plano. Con esta configuración, MacGPT no aparecerá en ninguna parte de nuestro Mac (ni en el dock ni en el listado de apps abiertas cuando usamos command + tab) pero podremos invocarlo en cualquier momento mediante la combinación de teclas correspondiente.
Ahora hablemos de los precios. Jordi Bruin, el desarrollador, ofrece dos opciones: Una donación de 19€, que nos brindará acceso a todas las futuras actualizaciones, o una opción gratuita para aquellos que no pueden realizar una donación en este momento.
