Josep Maria Esquirol: "El movimiento más humano es cuidarnos"

Vivir, pensar y amar son, según Josep Maria Esquirol, los "infinitivos esenciales". La obra de este filósofo, escritor y profesor responde a preguntas aparentemente sencillas para ahondar en la condición humana. "Amar y pensar son los verbos que hacen que la vida humana sea todavía más humana", reflexiona.
Esquirol es uno de los referentes de la filosofía en España. Este catedrático de Filosofía de la Universitat de Barcelona - donde ha impartido filosofía política y pensamiento contemporáneo - también es el director del grupo Aporía, dedicado a la investigación del pensamiento contemporáneo con la finalidad de un discurso antropológico, ético y político. El pensador ha publicado más de una decena de libros y ha participado en más de setenta trabajos colectivos y en numerosas revistas de divulgación. En su propuesta filosófica, la "filosofía de la proximidad", reivindica lo cotidiano, la diferencia y la resistencia. Un pensamiento lleno de matices que se encuentra en volúmenes como 'La resistencia íntima: Ensayo de una filosofía de la proximidad' y en su más reciente 'Humano, más humano: Una antropología de la herida infinita'. El trabajo de Esquirol ha sido merecedor de prestigiosos galardones como la Distinción a la Investigación otorgada por la Generalitat de Catalunya o el Premio Nacional de Ensayo. "La educación debe tener como finalidad principal ayudar a que las personas jóvenes sean cada vez más reflexivas y eliminar todo atisbo de frialdad", concluye el pensador.
