Si hubiese que escoger diez inventos y descubrimientos que cambiaron la historia, posiblemente coincidiríamos en varios. Son saltos evolutivos y tecnológicos que han hecho que seamos lo que actualmente somos, para bien y para mal. Contamos con Carlos Blanco, profesor de Historia de las grandes religiones y Teoría del Conocimiento en la Universidad Pontificia Comillas y autor de “Mentes maravillosas que cambiaron la humanidad”, para que nos hable de las primeras escrituras de Sumer y Egipto, del alfabeto, del primer uso del cero en Camboya, del Derecho, de la Filosofía, de la Democracia, de la imprenta, del método científico o de las universidades. Marcos Carrasco hablará del uso de la perspectiva en el Renacimiento, las líneas de fuga y lo relacionado con la visión, la óptica y el invento del microscopio, identificando la existencia de los espermatozoides y sirviendo de ayuda al pintor Vermeer. Sin olvidarnos, en la tertulia, de esos grandes inventos atribuidos a héroes y dioses, la domesticación del caballo, la pólvora o la gran importancia que tuvo la máquina de vapor. Carmen Fernández se adentrará en el origen del lenguaje, del fuego y de los antibióticos pues en la cueva asturiana de El Sidrón, habitada por Neandertales, se encontró que consumían corteza de un sauce y Penicillium, un hongo con propiedades antibióticas hace 49.000 años.
