Este año en Penitencia nos sentamos a escuchar. No fueron historias fáciles de contar ni de escuchar, pero todas llevaban la misma pregunta: ¿Cómo llegamos aquí?
En 2025 aprendimos algo que no podemos seguir ignorando: la violencia no nace de la nada. Tiene raíces que podemos rastrear, causas que podemos nombrar, orígenes que podemos transformar si nos atrevemos a mirarlos sin prejuicios.
Conocimos a adolescentes que no encontraron otras formas de sentirse vivos, madres que robaron para salvar a sus hijos enfermos, personas inocentes que perdieron décadas en prisión por cumplir cuotas de detención, y niños que crecieron entre rejas sin conocer el mundo exterior. Vimos cómo medio millón de niños tienen hoy a sus padres en prisión y cómo hasta 250 mil corren riesgo de ser reclutados por el crimen organizado.
Pero también descubrimos que los ciclos de violencia se pueden romper. Que cuando nos atrevemos a escuchar sin juzgar primero, algo cambia en nosotros. Que el origen de la violencia está en el abandono, en los talentos desperdiciados, en las familias destruidas, en la ignorancia de nuestros derechos, en la soledad de creernos separados.
Este episodio especial es un recorrido por las voces que nos enseñaron que entender el origen de la violencia es el primer paso para transformarla. Porque solo cuando lo encontramos, podemos empezar a cambiarlo.

Pero esto nunca se trató de números, sino de una comunidad que decidió no voltear la mirada.
2026 nos espera con los mismos problemas, pero también con todos los que ahora saben acompañar, con todos los que decidieron actuar para mejorar el país donde vivimos.
