Axel Arenas era un actor mexicano con una carrera prometedora, protagonizando la serie de José José para Telemundo. Todo cambió el 2 de enero de 2018, cuando fue arrestado en la puerta de su casa, acusado de un feminicidio que jamás cometió. Everything changed on January 2nd, 2018, when he was arrested at his doorstep, accused of a murder he never committed. What followed was a complete nightmare: a police setup straight out of a bad movie, scientific evidence thrown out the window, and a justice system built to fail.
Throughout the process, Axel faced media pressure, public shaming, and the incompetence of a system that criminalizes poverty. Even though he wasn't even in the country when the crime happened, had DNA evidence that cleared him, and witnesses who confirmed his innocence, he almost got sentenced to 70 years in prison.
