Evaristo Nucamendi entró a prisión a los 21 años. Se fugó dos veces: en 1988 de Barrientos y en 1995 cuando fue recapturado. Pasó 32 años en máxima seguridad en penales como Puente Grande y el Altiplano. Sus padres murieron sin verlo libre, pero nunca lo abandonaron.
