El capítulo se abre lejos de laboratorios y bases militares: en una cabaña sin cobertura, de madrugada, Gastón y Nuria discuten sobre despedidas imposibles. Él no acepta la decisión de su hija Ana de embarcarse rumbo a Marte; ella le recuerda que dejar ir también es un acto de amor. Entre reproches, culpa y miedo a la pérdida, el lanzamiento ocurre en una televisión encendida a regañadientes. Esta escena íntima —que transcurre en el pasado— coloca el corazón emocional de la temporada: ¿quién decide por el futuro de quienes aman el espacio? De vuelta al presente hospitalario, Almeida retoma su testimonio: en la colonia no había cuerpos. Ni rastro de los 113 colonos. Sólo flores frescas en el centro de la plaza y una sensación de vacío que parecía tener peso. El equipo baraja hipótesis: sabotaje de otra potencia, encubrimiento corporativo, delirios por confinamiento… pero los satélites no muestran actividad, las comunicaciones están destruidas y las cajas negras han sido borradas. El tiempo, como el polvo marciano, se ha detenido. La exploración revela más signos inquietantes: habitaciones congeladas en lo cotidiano, una bolera con el marcador aún encendido, y en los invernaderos, tierra cultivada recientemente. Nace así la “teoría Ricitos de Oro”: alguien ha seguido viviendo allí. Con la tormenta amainando, la misión se divide; Alison, la mecánica jefe, busca reactivar el equipo de comunicaciones mientras el resto intenta devolver la colonia a su operatividad y preparar la retirada. Entonces, el golpe: entre los ventanales del “pétalo cinco” vislumbran a Alison caminar como en trance, y detrás de ella, la llanura despejada deja ver 113 cruces alineadas frente al Monte Olimpo. La plegaria de un técnico rompe el silencio justo cuando Alison se quita el casco y cae sin un sonido. El episodio cierra con esa imagen insoportable —un cementerio perfecto donde debía haber vida— y con una certeza que desgarra a todos: en Marte alguien organizó la ausencia. Y quizá no querían que nadie regresara .
